Managing Creatives

Doing the same old thing the same old way is the only way to guarantee the decline of your business, your institution, and your organization. Yet, the people who could help most are the ones shunned most quickly. Too scary. Too unpredictable.

Doing a quick analysis on the testimonials I’ve received – and seeing, with not much surprise, that most folks identify my creativity as perhaps my biggest asset. Such a wonderful blessing – and curse. In recent years, as I’ve worked to extend my creative practice beyond film and TV, I’ve come to realize that we creatives are largely unemployable.

Ironic – as you can scroll through any management or business publication and find call after call for more creativity in companies. And the problem isn’t a lack of creative capacity. It’s an inability to manage such capacity – creatively!
